Aware of the important role played by young people in local economic development, the caisse joined several partners (the Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC), towns, caisses populaires and caisses d'économie of the Des Sources Regional County Municipality, the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi youth employment forum and the Centre d'emploi pour étudiants student employment centre) in supporting the Desjardins Student Trio work experience program. The caisse's commitment helped create 91 student jobs (72 through the Expérience Travail – Été summer work experience program and 19 through the Apprenti stage internship program). The total amount allocated to the project was $30,000.
To encourage elementary school students to save, your caisse holds a draw for a bike at each school among members who made deposits throughout the school year. Each deposit represents a chance to win. Every year, 6 young savers win a bike.
