Youth

Desjardins has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why Caisse Desjardins du Centre de La Haute-Côte-Nord is so enthusiastic about the concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.

Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de La Haute-Côte-Nord

The Desjardins Youth Work Experience program sets up a partnership between the Desjardins Caisse, local businesses and the community to organize 180-hour internships that give 15- to 18-year-olds their first job experience.

The Carrefour jeunesse-emploi is responsible for recruiting businesses and young participants. It also does interviews to select the interns and supervises and evalutates the program. The internships are financed by the Caisse and the participating businesses.

Caisse Desjardins du Centre de La Haute-Côte-Nord also contributes to the Desjardins Foundation, which awards over a half million dollars in scholarships each year.

School caisse

To help introduce children to sound savings habits at an early age, Caisse Desjardins du Centre de La Haute-Côte-Nord actively supports the educational school caisse services at the following schools: St-Luc de Forestville, St-Coeur-de-Marie de Colombier and Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil de Longue-Rive.
