Caisse populaire Desjardins de Beauce-Centre has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why it is so enthusiastic about the massive concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.

An educational program for young adults

Are you between 16 and 25? Want to take charge of your finances and make sound decisions as a consumer, student or worker?

Personal Finance: I'm in Charge is just what you're looking for!

You'll learn more about things that matter to you like:

• consumer choices
• cellphones
• school and work
• budgets
• financial services

Thanks to the collaboration of your caisse, free 2-hour group workshops are offered by community partners or schools in the region.

We take a dynamic approach that gets you involved. You'll interact through a variety of hands-on activities and exercises.

Scholarships

Caisse Desjardins de Beauce-Centre's scholarship program is intended to financially support its young members. The caisse is proud to support the development of new expertise, knowledge and jobs, as well as the social involvement of our young people.

Win one of 30 scholarships

Caisse Desjardins de Beauce-Centre and Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce will be awarding 30 student scholarships, for a total of $25,000, during the youth event to be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at the Centre Caztel in Sainte-Marie.

If the in-person event isn't allowed, draws will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce's head office in the presence of general managers from both caisses as well as Desjardins employees.

When you apply for the scholarship program, you'll be automatically entered in the caisse's and Desjardins Foundation's other scholarship programs that you might be eligible for. That's twice the chances of winning a scholarship!

The 2021 scholarship application period is from March 1 to 31, 2021.

Scholarships – 2020 winners

We're very pleased to introduce the winners of the Caisse Desjardins de Beauce-Centre and Caisse Desjardins de la Nouvelle-Beauce 2019-2020 scholarships. The draw was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in the presence of witnesses in the caisse offices and conducted by the general managers: Daniel Ruel, general manager of Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce, and Martin Chateauneuf, general manager of Caisse Desjardins de Beauce-Centre. Due to COVD-19, our special awards event was cancelled.

High school: 10 scholarships of $100

Beauce-Centre: Maude Gagné, Annabelle Giguère, Rosalie Giroux, Shad Jacques and Allyson Tardif.

Nouvelle-Beauce: Kaia Arpin, Noah Arpin, Juliette Desrosiers, Lobélia Doyon and Joanie Vachon.

Vocational: 1 scholarship of $500

CEGEP: 8 scholarships of $1,000

Beauce-Centre: Gabriel Poulin and Camille Veilleux.

Nouvelle-Beauce: Jolène Bolduc, Raphaël Galland, Noé Lacroix-Légal, David Leblond, Léa Savoie and Amélie Veilleux-Bonneville.

University: 10 scholarships of $1,500

Beauce-Centre: Sandy Jacques-Nadeau and Yasmine Ruel.

Desjardins marks your 18th birthday

Turning 18 this year? Come meet your caisse youth advisor, who has a surprise for you. We look forward to meeting you!

School caisse

To help introduce children to sound savings habits at an early age, the Caisse Desjardins de Beauce-Centre actively supports educational school caisse services at several schools.

The school caisse site has a wide range of activities, videos and games for young people, parents and teachers.

Year-end reward

Children who made 5 deposits or more each received a special youth dividend. This year's $10 youth dividend was deposited in their school caisse accounts on June 19, 2020. It's our way of recognizing their efforts and fostering their sense of responsibility.

For the 2019-2020 school year, $2,350 was paid out in youth dividends.
