About the caisse

A financial cooperative with deep roots in the community, Caisse populaire Desjardins de Sept-Îles has 11,199 members. Each caisse member is also a co-owner of the caisse.

Mission

The mission of the Caisse populaire Desjardins de Sept-Îles is to contribute to the improved economic and social well-being of members and communities in the area in which it operates:

  • by developing an integrated cooperative network of sound and profitable financial services, on an ongoing basis, that are owned and administrated by the members;
  • by developing a network of complementary financial enterprises, all performing well in their respective fields of activity, controlled by members;
  • by teaching democracy, economics, solidarity and individual and collective responsibility, especially to members, officers and employees.

History
