[Arnaud Soly and Marie-Ève Dorion are sitting on stools in front of a white projection screen.]
Arnaud: Hi and welcome to House it Going? I’m Arnaud Soly, and this is Marie-Ève, advisor at Desjardins.
Marie-Ève Dorion: Hi, Arnaud.
Arnaud: So, house it that a person can get their first house?
Marie-Ève: Tell me another pun.
Arnaud: I need a bigger place because I need “a-part-meant” for storage. How do I go about getting a new house?
[Arnaud looks directly at the camera.]
Marie-Eve: That was great! To buy a house, you need to apply for a mortgage. And you’ll likely want loan insurance too. It protects you by making your loan payments if you were to die, get cancer or become disabled.
Arnaud: You really think of everything, don’t you? But… I’m in great health. So, it’s cool.
Marie-Ève: A work accident can happen to anyone.
Arnaud: Work accident? I’m a comedian.
Marie-Ève: You could slip on banana peel.
[Video cuts to Arnaud slipping on a banana peel.]
Arnaud: No, no, I don’t do slapstick.
Marie-Ève: You could fall off the stage.
[Cut to Arnaud getting hit in the head with a shovel and falling off his chair.]
Arnaud: I know! I play the recorder with my nose, and it gets stuck. I have to see a nose, ear… an ear, throat… an ENT doctor. I’m stuck in the hospital for 2 months. Crack! Broken nose. Career ender.
[Cut to Arnaud playing the recorder with his nose.]
Marie-Ève: See, if something like that happens, insurance will give you some breathing room.
Arnaud: That’s music to my… nose.
[Arnaud laughs.]
Arnaud: I love my life!
[Cut to Arnaud sitting at the table with the yellow house. He’s playing Desjardins’s musical motif on a recorder with his nose.]
