Terms of use for the Desjardins action on Google Home or Google Assistant

How does the Desjardins Assistant work on your Device?

The Desjardins Assistant allows you to use your Device to get information on your Desjardins chequing accounts and credit cards. To use the Assistant, you must give commands and ask questions to your Device, which will carry out your requests and reply to you.

Google will turn your communication with your Device into an interaction and send Desjardins a secure key to identify you. Once you've been identified by our systems, Desjardins will send the information you requested to Google, again with a secure key. The Device will then answer the question you asked. This means that we share things like your account balance and latest transactions with Google. This sharing of information with Google will only occur when you ask the Assistant to provide you with some specific information about your accounts and Google will only keep this information for a limited time. Information sent to Google to carry out your requests will be purged shortly after your commands have been executed.

Since you will log on to Desjardins when you link your Device to your accounts, any voice interaction with Desjardins using the Desjardins Assistant will be considered to have been authorized by you. Desjardins will consider any communication it sends through the Desjardins Assistant in response to a question you ask to be directed at you.
