Institutional portfolio management

Investment strategies

The mission of the Investment Strategies team is to set overall asset allocation targets and to develop and administer systematic portfolio management protocols for Desjardins Global Asset Management's business partners.

Protocol development and management are supported by a sound investment philosophy. They are based on assembly and risk management processes for portfolios with a high probability of outperforming indexed and active investing in the medium term (3 to 5 years), particularly if several protocols are combined.

Bringing together individuals specializing in economics, statistics and advanced quantitative methods, the Investment Strategies team draws on each of these related fields to create systematic protocols. We believe that this is the most effective approach to building portfolios for our partners.

Through the mandates it manages, the Investment Strategies team maintains a close relationship with its partners.

The team develops portfolio solutions, passive equity management protocols designed to avoid the unfavourable assembly biases seen in traditional stock indices, as well as systematic asset allocation protocols. This work has applications for both institutions and individual investors.

Collaboration is a key factor in the team's work as well as in its advisory role for the creation of new products for Desjardins Group clients as a whole.

The Investment Strategies team's mandates are divided into 3 general categories:

  • global asset allocation
