In the area of impact investments, Développement international Desjardins (DID) relies on a team of skilled and experienced experts. In September, 2 new advisors joined the team.

Suying Zhao has 5 years of investment experience in emerging countries, acquired primarily in Asia with major financial institutions (including the Agence Française de Développement and its subsidiary Proparco). She also worked with the Montreal organization Fondaction, which supports the development of small- and medium-sized businesses and job creation throughout Quebec. With a Master in Environment and Sustainable Development, Suying has a thorough understanding of the climate issues that shape all of DID's actions.

Rachel Tardif has over 12 years of experience with Desjardins Group, including 8 years with DID. She's completed 2 long-term field mandates in Uganda and Vietnam, as well as numerous technical support missions in Africa. Rachel has proven expertise in several areas related to microfinance, including financial analysis, instrumentation and computerization of banking operations, and financial product development.

New members also joined the Board of Directors of FONIDI Management Inc., DID's investment subsidiary. We're pleased to welcome Éliane O'Shaughnessy and Éric Landry, who also sit on the FONIDI Management Investment Committee, Geneviève Lasalle, who sits on its Audit and Risk Management Committee, as well as Lisa Baillargeon, who chairs the FONIDI Management and DID Board of Directors. These officers bring their long and extensive experience in governance and investment.
