When someone sends you an Interac e-Transfer, you receive a text message or email with the sender's name. The sender chooses the communication method.

Steps to deposit the money in your account:

  1. Click the link in the email or text message.
  2. Select Desjardins.
  3. Log in to AccèsD Affaires.
  4. Answer the security question correctly.
  5. Choose the account where you want to deposit the money.
  6. Make sure the information you entered is accurate.
  7. Deposit the transfer.

You'll receive a confirmation number and the sender will be notified that the transfer was completed.

If you gave your business account number to the sender, no action is required on your part. The funds will be automatically deposited. The sender can decide whether or not to send you a notification.

It's an additional security measure that's used to certify that the person receiving your Interac e-Transfer is the intended recipient.

Choose a question that only you and the recipient know the answer to. The recipient must answer the question correctly to receive the money. To prevent fraud, send the answer to the recipient using a different communication method to that used for making the transfer.

If you don't know the answer to the security question with regard to the Interac e-Transfer for business, contact the sender.

If you answer incorrectly more than 3 times, the transfer will automatically be cancelled. The sender can retrieve the funds via their financial institution and will have to send a new transfer.

You can simply ignore the transfer and it will expire in 30 days.

If you want to decline the transfer right away, answer the security question as if you were going to deposit the money. You'll then have the option to decline the transfer.
