The Visa Desjardins Gold card is no longer available but if you obtained one before it was withdrawn from the market, you'll continue receiving one when your card is renewed.

Desjardins offers various cards to meet your needs. Find the one that's best for you.

The Visa Desjardins Gold card has been replaced by the Elegance Gold Visa card. It is also a Prestige card with an annual fee of $30 and offers:

  • Extended Warranty
  • Purchase Protection
  • the BONUSDOLLARS® rewards program (1% of your purchases in BONUSDOLLARS)

Upgrade or switch cards

Online on AccèsD

If you are an AccèsD user:

  • Log on to AccèsD.
  • Click on Cards, loans and credit.
  • Select the appropriate credit card, click on More options in the right-hand menu, and then on Manage this account.
  • In the left-hand menu in the Account management section, click on Upgrade or switch card.

By phone

If you don't use AccèsD or prefer to upgrade or switch cards over the phone, call Customer Service at 514-397-4415 or 1-800-363-3380 (toll-free). Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Platinum Visa card is no longer available but if you obtained one before it was withdrawn from the market, you'll continue receiving one when your card is renewed.

The Classic Visa card with no annual fee is no longer available but if you obtained one before it was withdrawn from the market, you'll continue receiving one when your credit card is renewed.

The Classic Visa card offers 3-Day Travel Insurance.

The Classic Visa card with no annual fee has been replaced by the Desjardins Cash Back Visa card.

The Desjardins Cash Back Visa card offers:

  • Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty on your purchases

  • an interest rate of 12.9%
  • the BONUSDOLLARS Rewards Program (1% of your purchases in BONUSDOLLARS)
  • 3-Day Travel Insurance at no cost
  • cash advances of up to $2,500 per day

As a replacement for the Classic Visa card with the optional BONUSDOLLARS Rewards Program, Desjardins offers the Elegance Gold Visa card with an annual fee of $30.

The Desjardins Odyssey Gold Visa card with the optional reduced interest rate is no longer available but if you had it when it was removed from the market, you'll still receive it when your credit card is renewed.

The Desjardins Odyssey Gold Visa card with the optional reduced interest rate offers:

  • a 12.9% interest rate
  • the BONUSDOLLARS Rewards Program (1% of your purchases in BONUSDOLLARS)
  • Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty on your purchases

The Desjardins Odyssey Gold Visa card with the optional reduced interest rate has been replaced by the Modulo® Visa card with an annual fee of $50.

The Modulo Visa card offers:

  • a 10.9% interest rate
  • the BONUSDOLLARS Rewards Program (1% of your purchases in BONUSDOLLARS)
  • 3-Day Travel Insurance at no cost
  • Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty on your purchases

Upgrade or switch cards online on AccèsD

Accord D financing is a second credit limit available on your Visa Desjardins card.

Overdraft transfer is a complimentary service offered to Desjardins members.

When you register for the Overdraft Transfer Service, the transactions that exceed your account balance are still authorized. A cash advance on your Visa Desjardins card automatically covers your account at the end of the business day.

This service helps you avoid overdraft charges as well as the inconveniences of a temporary lack of funds.

The interest rate on the cash advance is the same rate that applies to your Desjardins credit card.

Please note that you can't have a line of credit and the overdraft transfer on the same account.

There are many ways to register for the service:

Online on AccèsD

If you use AccèsD, you can register for the Overdraft Transfer Service online:

  • Log on to AccèsD.
  • Click on More options in the right-hand menu, and then on on Overdraft protection.
  • Click on the Overdraft Transfer Service link and select the appropriate account.
  • Click on Validate.
  • Select the Desjardins credit card you want to use for the cash advance.
  • Click on Validate, and then on Confirm.

By phone

You can also sign up for overdraft transfer by contacting an AccèsD advisor at 514-522-2373 or 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737, toll-free) from 6:00 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week.

At your caisse

You can also contact your Desjardins advisor who can sign you up for overdraft transfer.

As a Visa Desjardins cardholder, you get 5% to 20% off at participating Hertz counters worldwide when you use your credit card to rent a vehicle.

The terms of the discount are determined by Hertz merchants. Your discount may be subject to the season, vehicle category or the length of your rental.

To get the discount, the Hertz dealer will ask you for a CDP number. To get this number, go to Credit cards, select the card you have and click on the Hertz discount drawer.

If you still have your Hertz ID card we sent with your Visa card, show it to the Hertz attendant when you make your reservation.

Your card number and expiry date change when:

  • your card is replaced after being lost or stolen
  • your card expires
  • an account is transferred within the same payment network (for example, from Visa to Visa or from Mastercard to Mastercard) and the credit card number changes. The automated update will not be done when an account is transferred from Visa to Mastercard or from Mastercard to Visa.
  • your card is replaced as a preventative measure

No. They receive only your card number and expiry date. You'll have to contact them to report a change of address or to make other changes.

A list of merchants isn't available at the moment so it's important you contact those you pay with preauthorized payments to make sure they receive the automatic update. If they don't, you'll just have to give them your new card information.

If you cancel the service, remember to contact your merchants when your card information changes so your payments aren't interrupted. Cancelling the service does not cancel your automatic payments.

Contact your merchant if you want to cancel your automatic payments. Every merchant has their own cancellation conditions. If a merchant cancels your agreement, be sure to save proof of cancellation.
