Procedure to enable cookies

Cookies are text strings of queries and responses made on a Web site. They contain information that is read by a Web site while you are browsing or when you revisit the site.

There are two types of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are not stored on your hard drive; they are stored in the memory and deleted when you log off AccèsD. Session cookies are used to identify you whenever you change servers. Once your secure session comes to an end, the cookie is deleted. Persistent cookies are stored on your hard drive and recalled at your next visit. It is not possible to use cookies to run programs or infect a computer with a virus.

In order to use AccèsD, your browser must accept cookies. If your browser is not set up to do so, just follow the procedure to change the configuration.

Procedure to enable JavaScript

JavaScript is a widely-used Internet programming language. However, its use may be blocked by your network or browser.

If you access a site from a secure network, it may block JavaScript. In this case, contact your network administrator for more information.

Though JavaScript may be supported by the network, your browser may still reject it. Here is how to correct this:

  • If the version of your browser is older than 4.0 (or if you use another browser), JavaScript may be disabled. You should update your browser.

  • If your browser is more recent, version 4.0 and higher, JavaScript may have been manually disabled. In this case, follow this procedure to enable JavaScript:

Clear your browser's cache memory

Cache memory is a temporary memory in your Web browser (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer) used to locally store information that you accessed during a session. When you need to retrieve this information, your browser or wireless device gets it from the cache memory rather than from main memory where it was originally stored. Cache memory thus speeds up the retrieval and display time for information you consult while browsing.

At the end of your AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires session, you could therefore have personal financial data in your browser's cache memory. To protect the confidentiality of such information, make sure that you clear the cache memory at the end of each session.
