Investment Policy

Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins has two objectives: to contribute to the development of Quebec companies and cooperatives in all sectors of economic activity, and to ensure that its investments are profitable for its shareholders.

  • At least 60% of the capital is invested in eligible Quebec companies or cooperatives, including:
    • at least 35% in entities located in resource regions1 or in eligible cooperatives in Quebec;
    • up to 65% in eligible companies and cooperatives in other regions of Quebec.
  • The remaining capital, up to 40%, will be invested to achieve a fair balance between optimal return on this portfolio and an acceptable level of risk for the total assets of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins.
  • Companies and cooperatives are eligible if they are based in Quebec and have assets under $100 million and net equity of no more than $50 million. In addition to injecting development capital into companies and cooperatives, Capital regional et cooperative Desjardins offers expertise to stimulate their start-up, growth and influence.
