Young people and seniors are important to us at Desjardins. That's why we offer a complete range of products and services tailored to their needs. Desjardins also offers the disabled a variety of adapted services.

School Caisse
  • This way of saving, designed for children 6 to 11 years of age, is offered in partnership with schools.
  • It allows young people to become familiar with the notions of economy and cooperation.
  • Deposits are made at the school.
  • No service charges.

Student Caisse
  • A "mini-caisse" within the secondary school environment, managed by student volunteers.
  • Designed for young people aged 12 to 17.
  • Allows children to develop and practice the concepts of saving, economy, administration and cooperation.
  • No service charges.

Desjardins Youth Profit Account
  • Build-up account for young people aged 21 and under and for full-time postsecondary students aged 22 to 25.
  • Provides a higher interest rate than regular accounts that increases with the balance, in accordance with a scale adapted to young people's savings capacity.
  • No service charges for youth under 18.
  • Unlimited transaction plan1 for $2.95 per month ($11 less than The Premier Plan) for full-time postsecondary students aged 22 to 25 and non-students aged 18 to 21.

Desjardins Merit Service
  • For members aged 603 and over.
  • Discount of up to $4 per month on regular chequing account service charges. This discount is also valid on fixed-rate monthly plans.

Fee structure for members with disabilities
  • For members with permanent disabilities preventing them from using the ATM.
  • Members with permanent disabilities pay only automated services fees when making teller transactions.

1. Members who had the $4 rebate before July 1, 2011 may either keep the rebate or get the new $2.95 monthly rate. To get the unlimited transactions plan at $2.95 a month, ask your caisse or call 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737). Members who already have the Premier Plan automatically get the better rate, that is $2.95 a month.
