From the moment you open an account at a Desjardins caisse, you become a member of a savings and credit cooperative. This means that, like each caisse member, your caisse belongs to you and you have the right to vote at caisse Annual General Meetings.

I'm not a caisse member and want to open an account to become one.	Fill out our online form or make an appointment with an advisor at the caisse of your choice.
I am a client of another financial institution and want to transfer my accounts to Desjardins.	Use the Desjardins Quick Transfer service to transfer your accounts, including preauthorized transactions easily and without a fuss.
I'm already a member of a Desjardins caisse and want to open a new account.	To open a new account at a caisse with which you already do business, contact the caisse directly.

Documents required to become a member (open an account)

• 2 pieces of valid ID (i.e., valid driver's license issued in Canada, social insurance card, provincial health insurance card, Desjardins Access Card, passport).
• $5, i.e. the qualifying share (membership share), which is the amount required to become a member.
