The cost of the insurance is calculated based on a rate that corresponds to your age and the sum insured. The amount is debited automatically from your account on the first of the month and is revised whenever you change age groups.
The insurance premium is equal to 80% of the premium applicable to the age of the older of the two insureds.
For example, a man age 53 and a woman age 48 have a joint account. They insure their account for $10,000. The cost of the insurance corresponds to 80% of the cost for the older person, therefore $6.32 ($7.90 X 0.80).
