A first aid kit should have enough supplies to last until you get to a hospital or a local community service centre (CLSC) in Quebec. A basic kit should contain everything you need for superficial or serious injuries as well as an analgesic, antacid,
antihistamine and antidiarrheal medication.
People with allergies should certainly not forget their adrenaline and medical alert bracelet. If you are on medication, make sure you have a sufficient supply and keep it in its original container. Bring spare eyeglasses or a copy of your prescription.
To avoid car sickness, avoid reading, keep your eyes on the horizon, lean your head back on the headrest and if possible, tilt your seat back. Three good products are available to help combat motion sickness: Gravol, medicated strips to be applied behind
the ear (not recommended for children) and antihistamines.
