You can do your taxes online
More and more Canadians are using online tax preparation software to fill out their income tax returns electronically. According to CBC News, nearly 56% of all 2009 tax returns were submitted online.
To do your taxes online, you will need to prepare your tax return using government-certified software, then transmit it to the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec using NETFILE.

Though using NETFILE to send your tax return is free, the software programs you must use to prepare your taxes online usually charge a fee.
