Travel insurance: are you covered?

Did you know that you may already have travel insurance coverage?

Your group insurance may offer you some travel insurance coverage. If you are not entirely protected, it is possible to get insurance for the portion not covered by your group insurance.

VISA Desjardins credit cards also provide travel insurance coverage:

• The VISA Desjardins Classic, Elegance GOLD, Modulo GOLD and FOR STUDENTS ONLY cards include 3 Day Complimentary Travel Insurance coverage (you may extend your coverage), including coverage for emergency health care, baggage, accidents and trip cancellation.
• The VISA Odyssey GOLD card includes a complete plan that covers your spouse and dependant children too.

In the event of a claim, keep your supporting documents for your living expenses. If you have to see a doctor abroad, remember to contact the travel assistance service before or within 24 hours of your appointment. If you don't, you may have to pay a portion of the fees that would be otherwise eligible for reimbursement.
