Read or change your security settings on AccèsD

As part of an ongoing commitment to the highest possible security standards, Desjardins launched an enhanced log-on procedure in January 2008 for AccèsD, its personal financial management service. When logging on, AccèsD users are asked to:

1. Create a personal phrase and memorize an image.

2. Select 3 questions and their answers.

The enhanced log-on procedure acts on 2 levels:

  • If we detect that you are trying to log on from a computer other than your usual computer, we will ask you one of your personal questions.
  • If you answer the question correctly, we will display your image and personal phrase on the screen where you must enter your password. The image and personal phrase you have selected when configuring your security settings will ensure that you are logged on to the genuine AccèsD or AccèsD site.

However, if you do not answer a question correctly after several tries, your AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires password will be suspended as a precaution. You will then have to contact us to reactivate your access.

Change your security settings

You can check or modify your security settings, questions and answers at any time on AccèsD. Just click on:

  • File, in the upper-right portion of the page.
  • Configure security settings under User file in the left-hand menu.

Select 3 questions from the 20 displayed by the system. Questions are developed to minimize the chances of forgetting the answers because they all refer to personal events that took place at a specific time in your life.

For all of the articles, visit the Did you know page.

Here are some tips to help you choose your questions:

  • Choose questions to which you'll easily be able to remember the answers.
  • Enter a short and concise answer for each.
  • When you are asked your question, your answer must be identical (numbers or letters) to the answer you typed when you set up your questions.
  • When a question requires a numerical answer (age, address), you may only enter numerical expressions.

A sophisticated recognition mechanism is implemented to minimize the number of common errors that can happen when you enter your answer. For example, the system would consider "Saint-Paul", "St-Paul" and "St. Paul" as equivalent answers.
