Rules

Contest description and period

  1. The AccèsD – Off to a Winning Start! contest is organized by the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (hereinafter called "Fédération") and runs from March 26, 2010 (12:00 a.m.) to May 23, 2010 (11:59 p.m.).

Eligibility

  1. This contest is open exclusively to members of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec or a caisse populaire of the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. (hereinafter called "members"), who have a personal account.
  2. Are not eligible:

    1. employees, management, administrators and officers of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and persons residing with them;
    2. administrators and officers of the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario and persons residing with them;
    3. employees, administrators and managers of Vélo Québec;
    4. employees, administrators and managers of Promotion Speed.

How to enter

  1. No entry ballot required. To take part in the contest, members must use AccèsD Internet to pay in one transaction, from their individual account, their full registration costs for the Metropolitan Challenge and/or Tour la Nuit (night ride) and/or the Tour de l'Île de Montréal during the contest period.

    Participants must be the owners of the accounts from which they make the payment. If the account is jointly held, the person making the payment is the participant.

    No purchase required. To enter without making a transaction, eligible members may send their name, complete address, telephone number, the name of their caisse, and a 50 word essay on "The many advantages of paying bills on AccèsD" in a stamped enveloped to:

    Copies will not be accepted. Only one entry per stamped envelope. Letters must be mailed to the abovementioned address and postmarked not later than May 23, 2010 in order to be valid. These entries are subject to the same conditions as those that apply to other entries.

Prizes

  1. There are five prizes to be won. These are:

    • Five (5) gift cards worth $200, redeemable at any ATMOSPHERE® Sports-Outdoor stores in Québec and Ontario. Cards will not expire, and the dollar value of purchases will be deducted from the card's original value until the balance reaches $0.00.

  2. Combined prize winnings total $1000. Winners will receive prize by regular mail.

Draw

  1. The winners of the five (5) prizes will be selected from among all eligible entries by a random electronic draw. The draw will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 31, 2010 in the presence of witnesses in the offices of Vélo Québec, in Montreal.

  2. The entry date is the date of full payment of registration or the date mailed entries are received.

  3. The odds of a participant's name being drawn depend on the number of eligible participants who meet contest requirements. Members can only win one time.

General conditions

  1. To be declared a winner, randomly selected members must meet the following other terms and conditions:

    1. Be contacted by the contest organizers within ten (10) days following the date of the drawing.
    2. Confirm that they fulfill the eligibility and other requirements set forth by these Contest Rules.
    3. Correctly answer a timed mathematical skill-testing question without assistance over the phone.
    4. Sign the declaration and waiver of responsibility form (hereinafter called the "Declaration form") that will be forwarded to them by mail, fax or e-mail and return it to the contest organizers within ten (10) days following receipt.

    Failure to meet the above-mentioned conditions or any other condition herein, the selected persons will be disqualified and another draw will be held in keeping with these contest rules, until other contestants are selected and declared the winners of the prizes. The same rules will apply by making the appropriate changes, as the case may be.

  2. Within 15 days of receiving the signed Declaration form, contest organizers will forward a letter to the winners informing them on how to take possession of their prize. Refusal to accept the prize by the persons selected releases contest organizers from any and all obligations regarding the awarding of the prizes. In this case and at their only discretion, contest organizers may hold a new draw as described in the previous section.

  3. Prizes must be accepted as described in the present contest rules and cannot be transferred, substituted for another prize or exchanged in whole or in part for cash, except as provided in the section below.

  4. In the event that the contest organizers cannot award the prizes (or a portion of the prizes) as described in these contest rules, they reserve their right to award like prizes (or a portion of the prizes) of equivalent value, or at their sole discretion, the prize cash value as indicated herein, or as the case may be, the portion of prize value.

  5. The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario, their member caisses, subsidiaries and any other Desjardins Group entity cannot be held liable for lost, misdirected, fraudulent or late entries, or for any problem, for any reason whatsoever, involving the website throughout the duration of this contest, including any damage to a participant's computer.

  6. Each person selected releases the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc., their member caisses, subsidiaries and any other Desjardins Group entity from any liability in terms of any loss or damage that could arise from accepting and using their prize. Selected persons recognize that upon receipt of a letter confirming their prize, the execution of the obligations related to the prize becomes the entire and exclusive responsibility of the various suppliers of products and services. In order to be declared a winner and prior to the awarding of the prize, the selected persons agree to sign a declaration to this effect appearing in the Declaration form.

  7. By accepting the prizes, winners authorize the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. as well as their member caisses and subsidiaries to use their name, address, photo, image, voice and declaration regarding the prize for promotional purposes, without additional compensation.

  8. The Fédération reserves the right to terminate this contest should circumstances beyond its control prevent it from continuing. It will not be held liable in such an event.

  9. All participants agree to abide by these rules and the decisions of the Fédération, who is conducting the contest and whose decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

  10. The Fédération and the persons on behalf of whom the contest is held will accept no liability whatsoever in any event where their inability to act is the result of an event or circumstance that is beyond their control, or of a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute in the establishments or firms whose offices are used to hold this contest.

  11. Personal information obtained from participants will be used only to administer the contest. No advertising communication or other type of communications unrelated to this contest will be sent to participants, with the exception of communications from Vélo Québec regarding registration to the Metropolitan Challenge and/or Tour la Nuit (night ride) and/or the Tour de l'Île de Montréal.

  12. The French version of these rules is available on www.desjardins.com/merci and the English version of these rules on www.desjardins.com/thankyou. Should the French or English version of these contest rules differs, the French version will prevail.

  13. The contest is subject to all applicable laws.
