Like solidarity, cooperation is everywhere even if we can't always see it.

Leases and landlords

Many people will attest to the fact that it isn't always easy to find a place to live when the housing market is tight, as it has been for the past few years! However, thanks to housing cooperatives, some see this situation in a different light. Quebec housing co-ops have been growing over the last 25 years and currently have 22,474 affordable and decent apartments for rent. On a daily basis, 50,000 people run the 1,160 cooperatives, thereby contributing to the well-being of their fellow citizens.
