Caisses Desjardins du Québec and Caisses populaires de l'Ontario [Change site]
The "My Picture Perfect Studies" contest is organized by the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and runs from July 27, 2009 (12:00 a.m.) and October 31, 2009 (11:59 p.m.). The contest has two (2) components: a national component and a local component. These rules and regulations govern all aspects of the two (2) components.
National component
The national component is for Canadian residents between the ages of 17 and 30 who are full-time students at the vocational or postsecondary level in fall 2009 and members of a Desjardins caisse in the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec or a caisse populaire in the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc.
The following persons are not eligible to enter this contest: persons who, during the contest period or at the time of the draws are:
Local component
The national component is for Canadian residents between the ages of 17 and 30 who are full-time students at the vocational or postsecondary level in fall 2009 and members of a Desjardins caisse in the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec or a caisse populaire in the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc. The list of participating caisse is attached to these rules in a PDF document.
The following persons are not eligible to enter the local component: persons who are not eligible for the national component and persons who, during the contest period or at the time of the draws are:
National component
Six (6) prizes to be won, which consist of:

Local component

National component
To enter to win one of the five (5) student bursaries worth $1,000 each, contestants must go to desjardins.com/pictureperfectcontest, fill out the entry form, correctly answer the skill-testing question, and submit the form by clicking on the Submit button at the bottom of the page.
To get a chance to win the eco-friendly MacBook laptop computer, in addition to filling out the electronic entry form and correctly answering the skill-testing question:
Contestants must, during the contest period, use AccèsD Telephone or Internet to make one of the following transactions:
Contestant must be the owner of the account from which transaction is made. If the account is jointly held, contestant is the accountholder who makes the transaction.
OR
To be entered in the draw for the eco-friendly MacBook laptop computer without making a transaction, contestants may send their name, complete address, telephone number, name of their caisse or branch and an essay of approximately 100 words, written legibly by hand, describing the environmental benefits of using AccèsD, in an envelope bearing sufficient postage to the following address:

Paper entries must be mailed to the above-mentioned address and postmarked no later than October 31, 2009. All entries postmarked after this date will be null and void. These entries are subject to the same conditions as those that apply to other entries.
Reproductions are not accepted. Only one entry per stamped envelope.
Local component
By submitting a duly completed electronic entry form with a correct answer to the skill-testing question, contestants in the national component of the "My Picture Perfect Studies" contest are automatically entered in the local component at the caisse of which they are members, provided the caisse is listed in the attached PDF as a participating caisse. If this is not the case, contestants are only eligible for the national component.
Limit one (1) entry per person for both the national and local components.
National component
A random draw for the six (6) prizes will be made electronically from among all the eligible entries received during the contest period. The draw will take place on November 5, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. (ET) in the offices of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, in Montreal (Quebec). Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
The eco-friendly MacBook laptop computer will be awarded to the first eligible contestant selected who meets the conditions of these contest rules. The five (5) student bursaries of $1,000 each will be awarded to the other five (5) eligible contestants selected, as long as they meet the conditions of these contest rules.
Local component
A random draw for each of the prizes offered by participating caisses will be made electronically from among their members who entered the national component but did not win any of the six (6) prizes. Contestants for each participating caisse will be sorted according to the transit number indicated on their entry form and lists created to this end. Each of the prizes offered as part of the local component will be drawn on December 3, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. (ET) in the offices of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, in Montreal (Quebec). Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Only one prize per contestant, both for the national and local component.
A representative of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (for the national component) or a representative of each participating Desjardins caisse in Quebec and participating caisse populaire in Ontario (for the local component) will contact the winners by phone or by mail within two (2) weeks following the awarding of prizes.
To be declared a winner, selected contestants must:
Failure to meet the above-mentioned conditions or any other condition herein, will result in the selected persons being disqualified and another draw will be held, in keeping with these contest rules, until other contestants are selected and declared the winners of the prizes.
Within fifteen (15) days of receiving the signed Declaration form, contest organizers will forward a letter to the winners informing them on how to take possession of their prize. Refusal to accept the prize by the persons selected releases contest organizers from any and all obligations regarding the awarding of the prizes. In this case and at their only discretion, contest organizers may hold a new draw as described in the previous section.
In the event that the contest organizers cannot award the national component prize, the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec reserves the right to award like prizes of equivalent value. As for the local component, in the event that the prizes mentioned cannot be awarded, each participating caisse reserves the right to replace them, in full or in part, with like prizes of equivalent value. In the event that the number of entries is lower than the number of prizes offered by a participating caisse in the local component, surplus prizes will be cancelled.
In both the national and local components, prizes must be accepted "as is" and cannot be transferred, exchanged or substituted. Prizes will be awarded by the caisses in which the winners are members.
For the local component, each of the participating caisses is solely responsible for the prizes it offers, especially with regards to the nature, value and awarding of the various prizes to the winners.
The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc., their member caisses and subsidiaries accept no liability whatsoever for missing, lost. late or fraudulent entries or for any postal service-related problem, or for any breakdown of the Web site for the duration of the contest, including any damage to a contestant's computer.
Mailed entries are subject to verification by contest organizers. Any entry deemed illegible, incomplete, mutilated, fraudulent, mechanically reproduced, received or submitted late may be rejected and therefore not be eligible for a prize. All decisions by contest organizers are final and not subject to appeal.
Persons selected release the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc., their member caisses and subsidiaries from any liability in terms of any loss or damage that could arise from accepting and using their prize. Selected persons recognize that upon receipt of a letter confirming their prize, the execution of the obligations related to the prize becomes the entire and exclusive responsibility of the various suppliers of products and services. Prior to claiming their prizes, the winners agree to sign a statement and release form to this effect.
Winners authorize the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. as well as their member caisses and subsidiaries to use their name, address, photo, image, voice and declaration regarding the prize for promotional purposes, without additional compensation and agree to sign a statement to this effect if required by the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec.
Refusal to accept a prize releases the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc., their member caisses and subsidiaries from any obligation with respect to the prize for the national component. As for the local component, refusal to accept a prize releases the participating caisse offering the prize.
The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to terminate this contest should events beyond its control prevent it from continuing. In such a case, it shall not be held liable.
All persons who enter the contest agree to be bound by these rules and regulations, and decisions of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec in relation thereto will be final and without appeal.
The contest organizers, as well as their advertising and promotional agencies, employees and representatives waive all liability with respect to the malfunction of any computer component, software or line of communication, the loss or absence of network communication or any communication that is defective, incomplete, incomprehensible, or deleted by any computer or network, and which may limit or prevent anyone from participating in the contest. The contest organizers, as well as their advertising and promotional agencies, employees and representatives also waive all liability with respect to any loss or damage that may be caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by any web page or software download and transmission of any information concerning participation in the contest.
The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc. and their member caisses and subsidiaries will not assume any responsibility whatsoever in the event that they are unable to act due to situations or circumstances beyond their control, or due to a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute occurring in the places of business of the organizations or companies whose services are retained to hold this contest.
