Who should get this account?

Build-Up Savings Account for young people age 21 and under and full-time post-secondary students age 22 to 25. Use it for your regular transactions or for your savings and earn a better interest rate.

Features

Transactions	Deposits, withdrawals, cheques, transfers, bill payments and debit card purchases.
Access to your account	You can use your Desjardins Access Card (debit card) to make all your regular transactions at Desjardins caisses, ATMs and, at any time, via AccèsD Internet, Desjardins mobile services† and AccèsD Telephone. Find out more about: AccèsD Internet the Desjardins Access Card
Interest	Interest paid monthly. See current rates.
Monthly fees	Free unlimited regular transactions for those under age 18. Unlimited transaction plan1 for $2.95 per month ($11 less than The Premier Plan) for those aged 18 to 21 and for full-time postsecondary students aged 22 to 25 inclusively.
Account statement	Get free monthly statements of account by mail or online. Find out more about monthly statements of accounts.
Insured deposits	Deposits insured up to $100,000 per person per caisse. In Ontario, Canadian dollar deposits are insured up to $100,000 by the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario. Find out more about deposit insurance (FAQ).
Overdraft protection	You can add overdraft protection to your account (Canadian currency only) to cover transactions that exceed your account balance using an automatic cash advance from your VISA Desjardins credit card. 	At the caisse	Members Make an appointment with a caisse advisor: online by phone Non-members To open an account, you must first become a member of a caisse.

¹ Members who had the $4 rebate before July 1, 2011 may either keep the rebate or get the new $2.95 monthly rate. To get the unlimited transactions plan at $2.95 a month, ask your caisse or call 1 800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737). Members who already have the Premier Plan automatically get the better rate, that is $2.95 a month.
