Special member dividends for young members of school caisses

Are your children learning to save money through their school caisse? Now there is a special member dividends just for them: Youth Dividends, for young members of school caisses. These fixed-amount member dividends were created by the Desjardins caisses1 to highlight the savings efforts of young people who are school caisse members.

Youth Dividends reward school caisse members not only for the amount they have saved, but for their discipline and commitment in making regular deposits to their school caisse account. For the 2007-2008 school year, participating caisses paid around $340,000 to more than 35,000 kids who were eligible for Youth Dividends.

For the 2008-2009 school year, Youth Dividends will be deposited into the accounts of children who have made at least 7 deposits, regardless of the amount.

Eligible young members will receive a letter announcing the news in mid-June 2009, along with a little gift.
