Assessing an investment's risk

New investment products regularly appear on the market.

All of these products, without exception, are associated with some degree of risk. Whether they are savings bonds, term deposits, mutual funds or stocks, they may not give you the expected or desired return. The risk associated with investments has three sources: The product itself, the market and the investor.
