Responsible consumerism

An ethical and practical site!

In January 2007, Desjardins formed a partnership with Ethiquette.ca, a great Web site that offers a listing of over 600 environmentally and socially responsible products and services to help you make enlightened consumer decisions.

Alternative products

Natural bubble bath that smells like heaven, environmentally-friendly skateboards made of bamboo and natural resin instead of fiberglass: these are just some of the alternative products you can find on Ethiquette.ca. The premise is simple: buy products that don't harm the environment and that help improve the social conditions of the people who make them.

Being a responsible consumer

Responsible consumers ask themselves whether the products they use were manufactured in an environmentally-friendly way and under good working conditions. They ask themselves whether their clothing was made under environmentally-friendly conditions and whether the people who made them worked under good conditions.

Responsible consumers also ask questions about the services they use. Do the people who provide them with services work under fair conditions for fair wages?

If you want to make the right choices, you have to know the alternatives. That's what Ethiquette.ca is for!
