What's your style?

According to some specialists, finding a sport that suits your personality motivates you to engage in regular physical activity! Researchers have identified seven types of characteristics and their opposites that can help you find your sports personality.

So, if you aren't good with rules or authority, avoid team sports. If, on the other hand, you need the company of your friends to get motivated, you're better off choosing group activities instead. Here are a few suggestions when choosing a sport to match your personality:

  • Introvert: swimming, physical conditioning, yoga, etc.
  • Extravert: team sports, golf, racket sports, etc.
  • Adventuresome: downhill skiing, martial arts, mountain biking, etc.
  • Not inclined to risk: tai chi, walking, yoga, etc.

Accidents and injury

Even if you follow all the safety precautions, an injury or an accident can happen in the blink of an eye! It's important that if ever you do get hurt or if you are in an accident, your parents can continue providing for your needs. In such cases, accident insurance can help pay for such accident-related expenses as ambulance transportation, the purchase of a wheelchair or the adaptation of your home.

Desjardins Financial Security's accident insurance is called Accirance. If you are a student under 25 years of age, Accirance pays for such costs as private lessons, tuition, school transportation and reorientation, in addition to the above-mentioned expenses, if you become totally disabled following an accident.

Accident insurance doesn't heal anyone! But it helps to pay for some of the expenses and to cope with any hardships.
