Winter sports: something new to try!
According to Kino-Québec, one in two young people is not active enough, and nearly two thirds of high school students don't participate in any extracurricular activities. This winter, why not try a new or unusual sport to get you moving a
little more?
- Snow rafting: same principle as river rafting but on a snow-covered hill! Snow rafting is offered at several ski or winter activity centres in Quebec.
- Kite skiing (or snow kiting): a cross between skiing and kiting that involves being pulled by a traction kite while skiing. Part of the snow skiing family, this hybrid sport is a way to ski, slide or skate on snow and ice at a very
high speeds. Equipment required includes skis, a traction kite and a safety harness. A number of companies in Quebec offer kite skiing classes.
Being out of shape: could be expensive!
When setting insurance prices, insurers look at the insured's age, gender, health and smoking habits. Bad health significantly increases the cost of insurance! The cost of insurance might not be the only thing to increase, so can the cost of
medication, absenteeism at work (or school), etc.
