Conversation with the next world…
On a cold autumn night, you find yourself at the end of a dark street. The sound of a distant siren is muffled by the eerie howling of the wind blowing between the buildings. You feel a shiver run up and down your spine as a street light slowly winks
on. You notice several shadowy figures approaching. Quickly, you reach into your bag and pull out your cell phone. You dial the number and suddenly a whirlwind takes a hold of you and you are thrust into another world, a parallel universe. Your body
remains here but your spirit has travelled to another dimension.
Supernatural powers and shivers guaranteed!
Your cell phone gives you the power to speak with whomever you wish, wherever you wish and whenever you wish. You anxiously listen for your party to pick up. Your thoughts are elsewhere, you don't hear the surrounding noise and all of a sudden: BANG!
You hadn't been paying attention as the shadowy figures approached and you've just collided with one of them. Be careful: next time it could well be a car! It's your safety that's at risk!
You were disconnected. You decide to try again.
Lying on the cold ground, all your muscles painfully remind you what you have to do to use your cell phone:
- Your arms, hands and fingers hold the telephone and press the buttons again;
- Your eyes slowly recognize the numbers to push on the phone pad and then read them on the small screen;
- Your ears are waiting to hear a voice at the end of the line;
- Your brain kicks in to hold a coherent conversation when the time comes.
Someone finally picks up on the other end and you say: "Mom! I'm going to be late for supper!" A few seconds later, you hang up. You get up slowly and hold out your hand to the poor little ghost, whose white sheet had slipped off when you collided.
You mumble a few excuses to the child who goes off to continue trick-or-treating while you head home.
No need to say more: using your cell phone is demanding! It takes a lot of concentration on your part. Be vigilant when walking and use it in case of emergency!
