Recycled fashion
By Kimberley Lalonde
We go on and on about the environment these days, but as I'm about to explain, fashion is also a victim of global warming and that's what's brought about recycled fashion.
Recycled fashion means turning the clothes you already have into other pieces of clothing, such as turning a pair of pants into a skirt (it's a great look). If you're wondering if that's really going to help our planet, the answer is yes! You're no
longer throwing clothes away, so there's less waste and less use of new fabric to produce new clothes. Do you know how many items of clothing are recycled each year? 80,000 tonnes! Quebeckers are great textile consumers. In fact, their textile
consumption is one of the highest in the world: 27 kg per person! Think about it and act on it!
