Contest rules

1. The "I max my savings!" contest will be held from June 1, 2007 to December 31, 2008, 11:59 p.m. (ET). The contest involves random draws from eligible participants.


2. This contest is open exclusively to members of a Desjardins caisse of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec or caisse populaire belonging to the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. who are Chrome members, have registered in a Desjardins Chromatic Savings plan and have achieved and respected the investment objective of this plan at the time of one of the dates indicated in section 4. No purchase is required. Chrome members who did not register for Chromatic Savings can enter the contest by mailing the original copy of a handwritten, 100-word essay on The advantages of Desjardins Chromatic Savings to: FCDQ – Programme Chrome, 95 des Commandeurs, Lévis, QC G67 7P6.


3. A total of 18 prizes, with a total approximate value of $9,000 will be awarded as follows:
   
   
   • for 2007, 6 prizes equivalent in value to the DCS plan investment objective, for a maximum amount of $500 each (maximum $3,000)
   
   
   • for 2008, 12 prizes equivalent in value to the DCS plan investment objective, for a maximum amount of $500 each (maximum $6,000)


4. All those who have registered in a Desjardins Chromatic Savings plan and have achieved and respected their savings objective or who have forwarded a letter between the 1^st and 30^th or 31^st day of each month are automatically entered in the following month's draw.


5. The random draws for the 18 prizes will be held electronically before 4:00 p.m. (ET) on the last business day of each month at the offices of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec located at 95, avenue des Commandeurs, Lévis, Québec. The odds of winning will depend on the number of Chrome members who have registered in a Desjardins Chromatic Savings plan and respected and achieved the investment objective of this plan and on the number of letters received by the dates indicated above in section 4 for that date's draw.


6. Cash prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, exchanged or substituted, and will be deposited into the winners' Desjardins Youth Profit Account.


7. To claim their prize, winners must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.


8. The following persons are not eligible to enter this contest: anyone who, during the contest period or at the time of the draws, is an employee, agent or representative of the Desjardins Chrome team (Reception, Advisory Services and Loyalty Development Department of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec).


9. The contest winners will be contacted by e-mail, telephone or mail within two weeks following the draw.
   
   If the winner is a Quebec resident, the prize may be claimed only by the person entered in the contest, with the written consent of one of his or her parents or guardians. The latter must confirm the contestant's age and release the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc., their member caisses and subsidiaries from any liability with respect to loss or damage arising from participation in the contest, the awarding of a prize, its quality, damage occurring in transport or its use.
   
   If the winner is an Ontario resident, the prize may be claimed only by the parent or legal guardian with whom the winner resides. The latter must confirm the contestant's age and release the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc., their member caisses and subsidiaries from any liability with respect to loss or damage arising from participation in the contest, the awarding of a prize, its quality, damage occurring in transport or its use.


10. One of the winner's parents or guardians must agree in writing, if required, to the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. and its member caisses using the winner's name, place of residence, photograph and any declaration made with regard to the contest, for promotional purposes, without additional payment or compensation.


11. Refusal to accept a prize frees the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec from any obligation related to the prize.


12. The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec reserves the right to terminate this contest should circumstances beyond its control prevent it from continuing. In such case, the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec may not, in any way, be held responsible.


13. All persons entering the contest agree to comply with these rules and regulations, applied by the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, as well as with its decisions, which will be final and without appeal.


14. The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, Fédération des caisses Desjardins de l'Ontario inc, and the persons for whose benefit this contest is being held will not assume any responsibility whatsoever in the event that they are unable to act due to situations or circumstances beyond their control, or should a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute occur in the places of business of the organizations or companies whose services are used in order to hold said contest.


15. A French version of this document is available on the Desjardins Web site (www.desjardins.com/chrome/epargne). In case of dispute, the French version will prevail.
