Desjardins International Development

An international internship: Why not?

Do you dream of travelling while helping other people? Have you considered international cooperation work? It lets you combine being useful with having a great time!

Développement International Desjardins (DID), which is active in close to 30 developing countries, has found an excellent way to enable young, dynamic individuals to prepare to become the leaders of tomorrow. In collaboration with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC), DID offers the International Youth Internship Program. These interns are called upon to take part in self-help projects under the supervision of an experienced DID team member. They may, for example, work with employees of local credit cooperatives who help particularly disadvantaged persons to manage their family finances or start up a small business.

Besides providing an enriching cultural experience, the DID internships open many doors in the workplace.

Does a foreign internship sound good to you? As soon as you turn 18, you'll be eligible for the program. In the meantime, you can read up on the countries that really interest you, learn another language or visit www.did.qc.ca/en/default.html
