Benefit golf tournament for the Auberges du coeur Foundation
For the 5th year in a row, Pierre Moran, chairman of the fundraising committee for the Auberges du coeur Foundation and Senior Vice-President, Consumer Markets at the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, has organized a golf tournament to fundraise for the Auberges du coeur Foundation. This year's tournament will be held on August 14, 2008 as part of the Montreal Open.
The funds raised at this event will be used to help over 3,500 youth ages 12 to 30 who seek refuge each year in the 29 Auberges du coeur centres in Quebec. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Auberges du coeur centres can be found across 11 regions of Quebec. They form a province-wide network of shelters for troubled youth.
Since its first year, the Desjardins golf tournament for the Auberges du coeur Foundation has raised over $768,000 for the homeless youth at the 29 Auberges du coeur centres. The amount raised at this year's benefit golf tournament will be announced on August 14, 2008.
