Desjardins, sponsor of the Génies en herbe : l'aventure game show

 

Do you remember the popular game show Génies en herbe? Well, you'll be happy to know that it's making a comeback on Radio-Canada. Be sure to watch the new Génies en herbe : l'aventure game show, starting in January.

The general knowledge of secondary 5 and grade 11 students will be put to the test every Saturday at 4:00 p.m., from January 8 to April 16, 2011, through an exciting adventure.

Having education and young people at heart, Desjardins is proud to sponsor this program where contestants work together to take up a series of challenges.

The Boni Desjardins question

During the first 8 programs, 2 bursaries will be awarded as part of the Boni Desjardins question. A student delegated by his school will appear on the show to ask a question relating to financial education. The Génies en herbe contestant who answers it correctly, as well as the student, will each receive $500 to put towards a group project at their school.

    The "Littératie : coup de coeur" project encourages Centre scolaire Léo-Rémillard High School students to read in French. School personnel and students are invited to place a "Coup de cœur" bookmark in the library books they've liked to motivate others to read them. The Desjardins bursary will help the library buy new books and periodicals.

  • Joël Ayotte, 11th grader at Centre scolaire Léo-Rémillard High School in Winnipeg, correctly answered the question.

    Since Joël is also a student at Centre scolaire Léo-Rémillard High School, the school will receive $1,000 instead of $500 for the "Littératie : coup de coeur" project.

    The Desjardins bursary will help redecorate the student café. A den will be created and the walls will feature student artwork.

    The Desjardins bursary will help renovate the Student Coop booth to make it more attractive and include anti-theft security features. The number of items for sale will also grow to increase the booth's sales potential.
