"Ready, Set, Goal with AccèsD Affaires" contest

Rules

Contest Description and Duration

  1. The "Ready, Set, Goal! with AccèsD Affaires" contest is organized by the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (hereinafter the "FCDQ") and will be held from 12:01 a.m. (EDT) Wednesday, October 1, 2008, to 11:59 p.m. (EST) Sunday, November 30, 2008.

Eligibility

  1. The contest is open exclusively to business members of caisses belonging to the FCDQ and caisse populaires of the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. If participants are natural persons, they must be Canadian residents who have attained the age of majority as determined by their province of residence. The following exclusions apply:
    1. The employees, officers and managers from the FCDQ as well as all individuals living with them;
    2. The employees, officers and managers of Desjardins Group subsidiaries and components as well as all individuals living with them;
    3. The employees, officers and managers of the Desjardins caisses and the Ontario caisses populaires as well as all individuals living with them;
    4. The employees, officers and managers of Virtuel Création and Carat Stratégème as well as all individuals living with them.

How to Participate

  1. No entry form required. To enter, the business member must make one of the following transactions via AccèsD Affaires:
    • Sign up for the AccèsD Affaires service or
    • Make a first* transaction via AccèsD Affaires from among the following:
      • a bill payment
      • a transfer
      • a government remittance
      • an international transfer

    * Business members who registered for the AccèsD Affaires service before the start of the contest must not have made any of the above-mentioned transactions using this service (under any of the associated folios), in the past twelve (12) months, i.e. between October 1, 2007, and September 30, 2008.

    Each transaction made during the contest period counts as one entry. Maximum of five entries per member.

    To register for the AccèsD Affaires service, simply contact AccèsD Affaires or go to any Desjardins business centre or caisse and ask to have the service activated. Note that registering for the AccèsD Affaires service enables the member to open an e-commerce file, which allows transactions to be made under one or several folios.

    No purchase required. To enter without making any transactions, eligible business members may send their name, full address, telephone number and the name of their business centre or caisse, along with a hand-written essay of approximately 50 words on "the many advantages of AccèsD Affaires," in an envelope with sufficient postage to:

    Reproductions will not be accepted. Maximum of one entry per postage-paid envelope. The letter must be mailed to the above-indicated address, during the contest period, post-marked by latest November 30, 2008, failing which it will be voided. These entries are subject to the same conditions as those applicable to the other entries.

Prizes

  1. Three (3) prizes comprising four (4) tickets each to the Montréal Canadiens hockey match on March 14, 2009 in a Desjardins box at the Bell Centre, including on-site snacks and bar service. Total value: $4,800.

Draw

  1. The names of the three (3) winners will be selected via random draw, which will be carried out electronically on December 9, 2008, in the presence of witnesses in the offices of the FCDQ in Lévis.
  2. The odds of a given member's name being drawn at random will depend on the number of eligible entrants meeting all contest terms and conditions.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  1. To be declared winners, the randomly selected members must meet the following other terms and conditions:
    • Be contacted by the contest organizers within ten days following the date of the drawing.
    • Confirm that they fulfil the eligibility and other requirements set forth by these Contest Rules.
    • Correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question asked over the telephone, without assistance and within a limited time.
    • Sign the statement and release form (the "Declaration Form") that will be sent by the contest organizers by mail, fax or e-mail, and return it to the contest organizers within fifteen (15) days following receipt.

    Should any selected participant fail to meet the above-mentioned terms or any other condition herein, said participant(s) shall be disqualified and a new drawing will be held for that prize, in accordance with the present Contest Rules, until three participants have been selected and declared prize winners. In such a case, the same terms and conditions will remain applicable and adapted as necessary.

  2. Within fifteen (15) days following the receipt of the Declaration Form, the Contest Organizers shall send a letter to the winners informing them of how to take possession of the prize. Should a winner refuse to receive the prize, the contest organizers shall be released from all obligations relating to the awarding of said prize and may, at their discretion, hold a new drawing in accordance with the procedure described in the previous paragraph.
  3. By entering this contest, participants agree to comply with these rules and with the decisions of the FCDQ, which is administering the contest and whose decisions are final and without appeal.
  4. Prizes must be accepted as described above and cannot be transferred to another person, substituted for another prize or exchanged in whole or in part for cash, except as provided in the section hereunder.
  5. In the event that the Contest Organizers are unable to award the prizes as described in these Contest Rules, they reserve the right to award prizes of the same nature and equivalent value or, at their sole discretion, the cash value of the prizes as indicated herein.
  6. All selected participants shall hold harmless the FCDQ and the persons for whom this contest is being held from any and all liability with respect to any damage that may result from the winners' acceptance or use of the prize. The winners recognize that, upon receipt of a letter confirming their prize, the execution of the obligations related to the prize shall become the entire and exclusive responsibility of the various suppliers of products and services involved. In order to be declared winners and prior to receiving the prize, the selected entrants shall agree to sign a Declaration Form to that effect, as described in paragraph 7.
  7. The FCDQ reserves the right to stop the contest, at its sole discretion, if events beyond its control prevent it from being continued. In such a case, it cannot be held liable.
  8. The FCDQ and the persons for whom this contest is held shall not be liable for lost, misdirected or late entry ballots, including those due to problems with the postal service, or for any problem with the Internet due to any cause whatsoever for the duration of the contest, including any damage to a participant's computer.
  9. The FCDQ and persons for whom this contest is held shall not be held liable in any way if their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control, or a strike, a lock-out or any other labour conflict in the establishments of organizations or enterprises whose services are being used to hold this contest.
  10. In accepting the prize, all winners authorize the FCDQ, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario inc. as well as their member caisses and subsidiaries to use their name, place of residence, photograph, image, voice and/or statement regarding the prize for advertising purposes, without any remuneration whatsoever.
  11. All personal information obtained from participants will be used for contest administration purposes only. No advertising communication or other type of communication unrelated to this contest will be sent to participants, unless they have given Desjardins permission to do so on the electronic entry ballot.
  12. These Contest Rules are available in French at www.desjardins.com/droitaubut and in English at www.desjardins.com/readysetgoal.
  13. Should the French and English versions of these Contest Rules differ, the French version shall prevail.
  14. This contest is subject to all applicable laws.
