Comedian Martin Matte created the Fondation Martin-Matte to open home-care centres for people (adults or children) suffering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The funds raised by the Fondation are used to support people living with traumatic brain injuries and their families. The Fondation also helps set up projects to create living centres for people with traumatic brain injuries or physical disabilities who require extensive supervision and support.
Since June 2008, the foundation's first home-care centre, the Maison Martin-Matte de Laval, has opened its doors to 11 people who need a place to live that met their needs, as well as their families.
The goal of the Fondation Martin-Matte: to open completely adapted home-care centres throughout the province.
