On September 30, 2008, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) launched the National Do Not Call List. The purpose of this list is to reduce the number of unwanted telemarketing calls and faxes Canadians receive1.
In order to respect the choice of its members and clients, Desjardins Group has taken all necessary steps to ensure its internal rules comply with the new National DNCL rules.
If you no longer wish to receive telemarketing calls from Desjardins Group components you do not have a business relationship with2, you can register your home phone, cellular and fax numbers on the National DNCL:
Your registration will be valid for 3 years.
If you wish to be removed from the telemarketing call list of a Desjardins component you do business with, contact the component by phone to be added to its internal do not call list:
Under the new rules, market research and service calls are not considered telemarketing calls, which means our components may contact you by phone:
Consistent with the new rules, your exclusion request will be processed within a maximum of 31 days, which is necessary to update our systems. Therefore, you could receive telemarketing calls during this period. We apologize should this happen.

1. Businesses that receive telemarketing calls and faxes are exempt from the National DNCL rules.
2. A company you did business with over the past 18 months is deemed having a relationship with you and is therefore allowed to call you.
