A multi-unit residential mortgage is long-term loan granted to companies or individuals to finance multi-unit rental properties of five units or more.

Features

  • Amount that can be borrowed is based on the market value, economic value or sales price of the property offered as guarantee, and varies according to the quality of the guarantee.
  • Payments can be set on a date other than the first of the month to allow you to collect rents before payment due date.
  • Term of one to five years.
  • Amortization up to 25 years, and up to 30 years for loans insured by the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
  • Loan insurance option to cover payments in case of disability or death.
