Who is Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif?

Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif is the venture capital fund management arm of Desjardins Group. In its work as a manager, Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif invests in dynamic and innovative businesses in diverse sectors across Quebec. The financial instruments used, in the form of share capital or debt, aim to obtain an optimum return for funds managed, in keeping with each fund's investment policy.

Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins - (Fonds CRCD)	Created in 2001, this publicly-traded company's mission is to foster the economic development of Quebec, in particular resource regions by injecting venture capital into cooperatives and SMEs and providing consulting services to encourage growth and outreach. Desjardins - Innovatech SEC	This company was created in July 2005 through a joint initiative of the Government of Quebec and Desjardins Capital régional et coopératif. Its activities consist mainly in investing in start-up or phase one development companies, particularly those involving technological innovation or in the industrial sector and that focus on new uses of existing technology. Capital croissance PME	Created in 2010 following a partnership between Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, this fund aims to support the development and growth of small to medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in Quebec.
Prêt à entreprendre	Created in 2012 by the Government of Quebec and other Quebec investors, including Desjardins Group and Fonds CRCD, this program aims to promote the growth of entrepreneurship in Quebec by helping new entrepreneurs through mentorship and access to financing. Alliance Coopération	Created in 2012 by the Government of Quebec, Fonds CRCD and other Quebec contributors, this fund aims to promote the creation and expansion of cooperatives.

Concerned about the importance of business continuity to the prosperity of the community, Desjardins also works closely with Fonds Relève Québec and Fonds d'investissement pour la relève agricole (FIRA).

Through investment in Fonds Relève and capital for acquiring shareholders, Desjardins provides shareholders with access to a larger downpayment when buying a business. Desjardins helps companies pass the baton to the next generation.
