Claims

All loan insurance claims must be submitted to:

  • the caisse
  • the insured's Desjardins Business Centre.

Desjardins Financial Security (DFS) may ask you to provide, as quickly as possible, additional information required to assess your claim.

In case of disability

Your claim may be made once you have been totally disabled for:

  • 30 consecutive days, if your disability is the result of an accident or an illness requiring hospitalization for at least 72 consecutive hours (benefits are payable as of the 31st day);
  • 90 consecutive days, if your disability is the result of an illness (benefits are payable retroactively to the 31st day).

Termination of disability payments

To avoid having to pay back overpaid benefits, you must contact Desjardins Financial Security at 1-866-333-7220 if you:

  • go back to work;
  • go back to school or get job training;
  • are no longer totally disabled.

In case of death

It is important to bring the insured's death certificate with you.
