Critical Illness – with Home Care Services

In addition to a lump sum benefit, provides for reimbursement of home care expenses incurred in the event of critical illness.

Also makes available assistance services to give you the best possible chance of recovery.

Features

• Coverage amount: non-taxable lump sum payment of $10,000, $25,000, $50,000 or $100,000 or more, up to a maximum of $2 million, payable upon the diagnosis of one of 24 illnesses and surgeries covered by the policy.
• In the event of critical illness, lump sum benefit amount varies according to the insured's ailment:
  • 100% of coverage amount selected when contract was issued if afflicted with one of the 20 covered illnesses or surgeries
  • 10% of coverage amount selected up to a maximum of $25,000 if afflicted with one of the 4 covered infectious diseases
• Home Care Services benefit: maximum of 1% of coverage amount, up to a maximum of $25,000 per month. Benefit period may vary between 1 and 2 years, depending on selection at the time of the contract.
  • Examples of covered services: nursing care, home help, assistance with personal hygiene, heavy housework, etc.
• Best Doctors^TM services: access to medical information and state-of-the-art expertise.
• Critical illness personalized assistance service: a nurse contacts the insured to evaluate his or her home care needs and offers to identify service providers and coordinate delivery of services.
• Critical illness coverage period: up to age 75 or until benefit amount is paid in full.
• Available to individuals aged 6 to 60.
• Cost is based on product features selected (i.e., coverage amount and period of home care service reimbursement) and insured's profile (age, gender, and general health).
