Reference guide for buying a business

Buying a business is a very complicated process that requires careful planning.

As the choice financial institution of millions of Quebec SMEs and sought out by many entrepreneurs who want to better understand the process of purchasing a business, Desjardins, Acquisition.biz and HEC Montréal have developed a guide (available in French only) to help entrepreneurs achieve their goals.

"Comment acheter une PME" (How to buy an SME) provides specific answers to the following questions:

  • How to be a good buyer? (Comment devenir un « bon » acheteur?)
  • How to prepare for a sucessful transaction? (Comment préparer la transaction et la réussir?)
  • What are the goals of diligent audits? (Quels sont les buts et les objectifs de la vérification diligente?)
  • What human aspects should be considered? (Quels sont les aspects humains à retenir?)
  • Which negotiation strategies are best? (Quelles sont les stratégies de négociation à retenir?)
  • How to build your financing package? (Comment réaliser son montage financier?)
