Open a Desjardins Business Account

To open a business account in the caisse of your choice, follow the steps below.

Step 1

Fill out, print and sign the Application to Open a Business Account – Preliminary Analysis form (PDF format, 102 KB).

Step 2

Call the Desjardins caisse of your choice to make an appointment. You’ll receive instructions as to how and where to forward your completed application form.

You’ll also be informed of the documents you’ll need to bring with you (see table below).

Step 3

Meet with a caisse or Desjardins Business Centre advisor to finish opening your account. The advisor will let you know which account or plan is best suited to your needs and provide you with the information you’ll need to manage your business account.

Documents required based on your business structure

Sole proprietorship
Business owned and managed by only one individual.
  • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
  • Two pieces of identification (driver’s license, health insurance card, etc.) of business owner and all other authorized signers on the account.
Partnership
Business owned and managed by several individuals.
  • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
  • Two pieces of identification (driver’s license, health insurance card, etc.) of all authorized signers on the account.

Other documents may be requested, such as:

  • the partnership agreement
  • a list of partnership assets
  • Corporation
    Business incorporated at the federal or provincial level.
    • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
    • A copy of the charter (certificate and articles of incorporation, letters patent, or other).
    • A copy of the rules and regulations.
    • Two pieces of identification (driver’s license, health insurance card, etc.) of all authorized signers on the account.

    Other documents may be requested.

    Association
    Organization of persons having a common social or community goal.
    • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
    • Association By-Laws.
    • Two pieces of identification (driver’s license, health insurance card, etc.) of all authorized signers on the account.
