The VISA Desjardins FOR STUDENTS ONLY card is the only credit card in Canada to offer Cell Phone Insurance¹ at no charge.

Cardholder's cell phone is insured up to $200^2,3 in the event of loss or theft (a $25 deductible applies).
Insurance applies to the primary cardholder only, once annually and a maximum of 2 times over 4 years.

Set up automatic payment of your cell phone bill with your VISA Desjardins FOR STUDENTS ONLY card through your service provider. When making a claim, you will be required to present proof of payment (3 months for the first claim and 12 months for the second).

Cell Phone Insurance is underwritten by Lombard General Insurance Company of Canada.
Purchase of a new handset must be charged to the VISA Desjardins FOR STUDENTS ONLY card.
This policy covers only excess insurance and/or refund of deductible for all other insurance policies in effect and/or not covered by the cellular service provider and/or the manufacturer (equipment upgrade or replacement at no charge).
Proof of payment with the VISA Desjardins FOR STUDENTS ONLY card will be required by the insurer in the event of a claim.
