From Me to Me contest
Contest rules
The contest will run from April 7, 2008 (12:01 a.m.) to June 19, 2008 (11:59 p.m.). It is being held by Desjardins Card Services, a business unit of the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, and is open to residents of
Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and New Brunswick who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence and hold one of the following VISA Desjardins* credit cards during the contest period up to the draw date
on July 7, 2008:
- VISA Desjardins FOR STUDENTS ONLY
- VISA Desjardins Classic
- VISA Desjardins Classic with BONUSDOLLARS option
- VISA Desjardins Classe OR
- VISA Desjardins Elegance GOLD
- VISA Desjardins Odyssey GOLD
- VISA Desjardins Modulo GOLD
- VISA Desjardins Platinum
As used herein, the term "VISA Desjardins Card" refers to any of the cards listed above.
How to enter
- When you make a purchase using your VISA Desjardins card (excluding interest charges, annual fees and cash advances), you automatically receive one (1) entry ballot. Entries are not cumulative, i.e., the second and subsequent purchases made with the
card do not entitle the cardholder to additional entries. There is a limit of one (1) entry for this entry method.
- When you obtain Accord D Desjardins financing online, at a
branch
or at any participating merchant using your VISA Desjardins card, you also automatically receive one (1) entry ballot. Entries are cumulative in this case, i.e., each Accord D Desjardins financing earns one (1) entry ballot. Eligible
financing must be obtained in-store, by phone or online throughout the contest period. Desjardins Card Services is not responsible for financing registered by the merchant with VISA Desjardins after the contest closing date and time.
- If you become a new VISA Desjardins primary cardholder during the contest period, you automatically receive ten (10) entry ballots. If you receive your new card further to an approved Accord D Desjardins application, you automatically receive eleven
(11) entry ballots (ten (10) for the new card and one (1) for the Accord D Desjardins transaction).
- If you change card categories, you will receive one (1) entry ballot in the following cases:

No purchase required. Any holder of a VISA Desjardins card who wishes to participate without making a transaction may do so by handwriting their name and VISA Desjardins credit card number LEGIBLY on an 8½" X 11" sheet of paper along with a
50-word essay on how and why they obtained a VISA Desjardins card and then mailing it with sufficient postage to the following address: Desjardins Card Services, From Me to Me contest, 425 Viger Avenue West, 10th Floor, Montreal, QC, H2Z
1W5. All mechanical reproduction or transmission methods will be refused. Mail entries must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on June 19, 2008 to be valid. Participants may enter as many times as they wish, but there is a limit of one (1) entry per
mailing. Each entry ballot provides the cardholder with one (1) contest entry.
These entries are subject to the same conditions as other entries.

Draw
The draw will be held on July 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the offices of Desjardins Card Services in Montreal. To award the prizes, twenty (20) entries will be selected electronically at random from all entries registered since the start of the contest.
The names of the winners will be announced to all participants and cardholders in the October 2008 "A Propos" newsletter, and will also be mentioned in the September 2008 "4530" newsletter. Winners will be contacted by telephone.
Prizes
Twenty (20) prizes, worth $500 each ($10,000 in total), will be awarded in the form of BONUSDOLLARS.
General conditions
- Anyone whose entry has been selected at random must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question by telephone, otherwise the entry will be disqualified and a new draw will be held until a winner is found. The person who is thus declared a
winner will be told how to claim his or her prize.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be exchanged, substituted for another prize or transferred to another person. The decision of the contest organizers is final and may not be appealed. As an exception, if the winning cardholder is the
holder of a FOR STUDENTS ONLY or Classic card without the BONUSDOLLARS option and the Classic cardholder (the option is not offered with the FOR STUDENTS ONLY product) does not wish to enrol in the program, the prize will be awarded in the form of an
account credit.
- In the event that a prize cannot be awarded for reasons beyond the control of the contest organizers and unrelated to the winner, the organizers will award a similar prize of equivalent value or, at their entire discretion, the cash value of the
prize.
- The winners release the contest organizers from all liability for any damages that could result from their participation in the contest, as well as from their acceptance and use of the prize. The winners agree to sign a declaration and release form
prior to receiving their prizes.
- Winners must be VISA Desjardins cardholders and their accounts must be active and in good standing on the date of the draw, otherwise they may be disqualified and forfeit their prize claim. A new prize draw will be held among eligible registered
participants on the date of the new draw in order to award the prize.
- All entries shall be subject to verification by the contest organizers. Any fraudulent entry, or mail entry that is illegible, incomplete or mutilated, will be automatically rejected and will not be eligible for the draw. The decision of the contest
organizers to this effect is final and may not be appealed.
- By entering this contest, the winners authorize the organizers to use their name, photograph, likeness, voice, place or residence and/or prize statement for publicity purposes, if required, without remuneration.
- The following are not eligible to enter the contest: employees, agents and representatives of Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, its member caisses and subsidiaries, other federations and their affiliated caisses and
subsidiaries, Desjardins Credit Union and its subsidiaries, any other Desjardins Group entity, their advertising and promotional agencies, their suppliers of materials and services related to this promotion and any other agent directly linked to this
contest, as well as all members of their immediate family (brothers, sisters, children, father, mother), their legal or common-law spouse, and all other persons with whom these employees, agents and representatives live.
- For Quebec participants. Any dispute regarding the organization or holding of a promotional contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any dispute regarding the awarding of a
prize may be submitted to the Régie for the sole purpose of attempting to reach a settlement.
- For the purposes hereof, the participating person is the primary cardholder, regardless of the identity of the person who made the transaction.
