Caisses Desjardins du Québec and Caisses populaires de l'Ontario [Change site]
The 2012 call for applications has ended. The new scholarship application form will be available in January 2013.
See you next year!
To apply for a Fondation Desjardins scholarship, you must fill out the online form. First make sure you have on hand all the information you need to submit your application.
It will take you approximately 30 minutes to fill out the form. You will not be able to save the information entered and return to it later.
Report card or transcripts
You will be asked to provide your average grade percentage (example: (x/total)*100). This means the average of your most recent grades or those of last 2 consecutive sessions completed (not the grades received for courses leading to the
degree for which you are applying for a scholarship.) If you are going back to school, provide the average grade percentage of the annual transcript or report card for your last degree obtained. You will also be asked to provide supporting documentation
for the average stated.
Student financial aid
Indicate the total amount received from Aide financière aux études (AFE) to date. This amount can be found in your AFE online file.
Aide financière aux études financial aid assessment
This is the amount of financial aid (loan + bursary) the Aide financière aux études simulator says you could be awarded for the next school year (and not the total amount of allowable expenses). To obtain this number, use the assessment simulator on the Aide financière aux études website. If the simulation result is "0", enter that number.
You will also be asked to provide supporting documentation if you are awarded a scholarship.
Permanent code
A permanent code is issued to each student by the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport. It is used to identify each student and usually appears on report cards, transcripts and diplomas.
Desjardins member
If you are a Desjardins member, indicate your caisse name or transit number. The 5-digit number is displayed on your cheques and AccèsD account.
Previous studies, current studies and upcoming studies next fall
When you apply for a Fondation Desjardins scholarship, you are applying for financial aid for the following fall and winter sessions (whether or not you've already begun your course of study or were planning to start on another
degree). You must therefore provide information about your current studies and those you intend to pursue next fall and winter.
Work experience and involvement in the community
Provide information about your work experience and internships, whether or not they are related to your studies. This information will help us assess your application.
Also provide information about your experience with student, cultural, community and sports activities, This information will help us assess your application (maximum of 5).
Other experience
Indicate any other relevant experience that ties into your studies or career, such as your publications, articles, or lectures over the course of your school or career path.
Tip: Fondation Desjardins scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, but also on students' involvement in the community. Indicate all your school, community, cultural or sports experience, whether or not they are related to your field of study. The selection committee will assess your application based on this information.
Once you've submitted your scholarship application, you'll receive an acknowledgement of receipt that includes:
