Changing your PIN at Desjardins ATMs

Q. Why is Desjardins allowing PIN changes at ATMs?
A. PINs play a key role in making your Desjardins Access Card and VISA Desjardins card transactions secure. By adding this ATM function, you can change your PIN 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q. What does changing a PIN at an ATM mean?
A. It means changing the personal identification number (PIN) on your Desjardins Access Card or VISA Desjardins credit card at an ATM.

Q. How do I change my PIN at an ATM?
A. For the Desjardins Access Card:
  1. From the main menu, select Balance, statement, PIN change or repayment.
  2. Select PIN change
  3. Follow the instructions.
For the VISA Desjardins card:
  1. Select PIN change from the main menu.
  2. Follow the instructions.

Q. Is it secure to change my PIN at an ATM?
A. Yes. To change your PIN, you must absolutely know your current PIN because you have to enter it before you can choose a new number.

Q. Why should I change my PIN?
A. We recommend that you change your PIN:
  • if you think someone saw it
  • if you have any doubts about the store or the employee who carried out your purchase
  • periodically, to reduce the risk of fraud

Q. Can I change my PIN at any ATM?
A. You can change your PIN at any Desjardins ATM in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick, as well as all Desjardins Credit Union (DCU) and Alliance des caisses populaires de l'Ontario limitée (ACPOL) ATMs.

Q. If I don't have an active PIN on my Desjardins Access Card, can I add one at an ATM?
A. To change the PIN on your Desjardins Access Card at an ATM, you must first enter your current PIN to validate the change. If you don't have a PIN, you have to go to your caisse to get one.

Q. If I don't have an active PIN on my VISA Desjardins card, can I add one at an ATM?
A. To change the PIN on your VISA Desjardins card at an ATM, you must first enter your current PIN to validate the change. If you don't have a PIN, you have to go to your caisse or call 514-397-4415 (1-800-363-3380) to get one.

A. The "PIN change" function is in grey when it's not currently available at the ATM.
