The FrancoFolies present… the Espace vert Desjardins

Montréal, July 9, 2008 – The FrancoFolies de Montréal present the Espace vert Desjardins, the brand new green entertainment space created by Desjardins Group as they renew their partnership for the next three years.

At the Place des Arts Esplanade, the Espace vert Desjardins will welcome two series of shows starring up-and-coming artists from the French-speaking world: Nouvelle Chanson Desjardins, at 5:00 p.m., and Les Espoirs Desjardins, at 7:00 p.m. In all, twenty free shows will take place between July 24 and August 2.

The Musiques d’ici et d’ailleurs Desjardins series is back again this year in the Grande-Place of Complexe Desjardins. The program offers shows from local artists, who will take us on a tour of culture and music from their countries of origin. Four free shows will be presented at 9:00 p.m. on July 30 and 31, as well as on August 1 and 2.

Desjardins is also continuing its FrancoFolies recycling program. A team of six people dressed in Desjardins colours will be responsible for monitoring the areas around the stages and picking up all recyclable waste (plastic cups and bottles, aluminium cans) and bringing them to the sorting centre on the FrancoFolies site. In addition to encouraging festival-goers to make environmentally-friendly gestures by recycling their garbage, the initiative will also help reduce the amount of waste that gets thrown out.

Finally, we would like to remind you that, once again this year, VISA Desjardins credit card holders will be able to benefit from rewards program advantages by purchasing tickets through 1-877-BILLETS and at official FrancoFolies ticket outlets.
