Québec City, June 4, 2008 – Desjardins Group is proud to be associated with the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec for the presentation of the greatly anticipated exhibition Le Louvre à Québec. Les arts et la vie.
This exposition, in what will be a world première from June 5 to October 26, 2008, is organized by the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, in special collaboration with one of the largest museums in the world, the Louvre Museum in Paris.
“This exhibition is the result of an unprecedented cooperative effort and we are proud to be a part of it,” declared Ms. Monique F. Leroux, Chair of the Board, President and CEO of Desjardins Group. “Above all, we hope that Desjardins Group’s commitment will make it possible for everyone – the people of Québec and visitors to the 400th anniversary celebrations alike – to see this unique exposition, which is already predicted to be a highlight of the celebrations.”
The commitment of Desjardins to arts and culture is proof of the importance it places on its social responsibility in this sector. Accordingly, in 2007, $8.5 million, out of $72 million in donations and sponsorships of all kinds given to the community, were allocated to this area of great interest to the Québec population.
