Shares Available Again Starting December 5, 2007: Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins

Provincial tax credit rises from 35% to 50% and the maximum allowable amount is now $5,000

Montréal, November 26, 2007Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins today announced that the resumption date for the sale of shares is set for December 5, 2007. The available share balance for the 2007 issue totals $50 million, and the shares are available through the Desjardins caisse network as in the past.

Last November 9, the Ministère des Finances announced the adoption of new measures covering Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins. Among them were increasing the tax credit from 35% to 50% for the purchase of the shares and the annual maximum allowable amount from $2,500 to $5,000. In adopting these new provisions, the government has underscored Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins' positive contribution to fostering economic development through its investments in businesses and cooperatives in all regions of Québec.

"We're very proud that our achievements have been recognized by the government, and we're convinced that our shareholders – both current and future – understand the importance of taking part in the economic growth of Québec," stated the Company's Chairman of the Board, André Lachapelle. "For some taxpayers, buying shares of Capital régional is a financial planning strategy they find highly attractive, especially those who've reached their RRSP contribution limits," he concluded.
